About Me

Salvadora Galan
El Paso, Texas, United States
Salvadora Galan was born in Olvera, a small town near Ronda, a mountainous region of Cadiz. At the age of 9, she moved to Utrera, Seville. She grew up there in a family where flamenco singing is a way of life, so it was natural for her to become a flamenco singer. At the age of 13 she won a flamenco singing competition in Utrera. At 17 Salvadora started as a professional performer, traveling all over Spain and Portugal and since then she has appeared in numerous flamenco festivals. In recent years Salvadora Galan has given recitals throughout Mexico and the United States.
